Poster 14” x 21”. This is the official poster for the canonization of Philippine Duchesne on July 3, 1988. The original painting is acrylic on canvas, 38” x 31”, 1974, William Schickel. The Society of the Sacred Heart used Dad’s painting on the official poster. Dad’s older sister Ruth and great aunt Gertrude were both members of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Dad also designed the renovation of the National Shrine of Saint Philippine Duchesne in St Charles, Missouri. There is a chapter on the national shrine on pages 76 - 89 of the book Sacred Passion: the Art of William Schickel (second edition) by Gregory Wolfe.
